Tempered glass:
Heat-strengthened glass which is
four times stronger than standard
glass and does not break into sharp
shards when it fails.
Tempered glass is manufactured through a process of extreme heating and rapid cooling, making it harder than normal glass.
Some usage of tempered glass: Table tops, TV stand, fireplace, computer screens, oven windows, skylights, door windows, tub enclosures and shower doors and public structures.
Zebtel distributes quality architectural glass products with high quality substrate glass. The glass is available in several tints, two of which are clear.
Laminated Glass: Laminated glass consists of 2 or more pieces of glass that are bonded between Poly Vinyl Butyral (PVB). It is a safety glass that is ideal for detention centers, Bullet-resistant, Blast-resistant, Acoustic, exterior storefronts, curtain walls, windows, doors, panels adjacent to doors, glazed panels, balconies, elevators, railings, and skylights and generally where safety is a concern.
Glass-clad polycarbonate & Polycarbonate: Two thin glass plies are bonded with urethane to an inboard core ply or plies of polycarbonate. The resulting laminate weighs 40 to 60 percent less per square foot and resists penetration better than all-glass laminates of comparable or greater thickness.
Insulated glass: Zebtel works with certified insulated glass fabricators to provide a variety of insulated glass products. Please contact your Zebtel sales representative for insulating glass units with annealed, heat- strengthened, tempered or laminated glass as well as glass and polycarbonate laminates.
Annealed glass: It is non-safety standard glass which will break off into large, sharp shards when broken. Annealed is less expensive than tempered glass and is ideal for usage where safety is not a major issue.
